A LUCKY 7 months we've had as parents!

Steven & I are so thankful for Christopher's progress over the past 7 months. His personality surely shines now! Christopher's a bundle of joy & such a sweet baby boy! He's also already has LOTS & LOTS of energy! The pictures above are only a select few ones that I have managed to capture. Most of my pictures of him this past month capture him moving his arms & legs or he's spitting in them; therefore, most of my pics are blurry! This past month Christopher celebrated his first Super Bowl Sunday & Valentine's Day & as you can see he's ready to celebrate Mardi Gras in March! He now has 3 bottom teeth! He sits up; however, since, he's such a wiggle worm he doesn't stay upright longer than 5-10 seconds. He loves jumping away in his jumperoo as he plays with all the toys that surround him, he loves to jump up in his little johnny jump up, and he's starting to move his walker some. He continues to eat well & now likes Puffs! He's discovered his ability to spit & loves to spit while sitting infront of the mirror. He loves bath time; it always calms him down. He knows how to throw toys from his highchair in the kitchen into the living room. What can I say...we have a little boy on our hands. If he wasn't jumping, kicking, spitting, & throwing I might be a little worried, right? We've enjoyed being outside at Strollfit & going on strolls by the lakes. We are loving this nice weather! I cannot believe my sweet boy will be 8 months on March 1st!

A Valentine's Day To Remember

Paw Paw always said, "Hear No Evil, See No Evil, Speak No Evil"

On Friday February 11th at 5:40 PM the angels & good Lord called my dear Paw Paw Perret home to Heaven. I'm not sure what all to say; however, all I know is that Paw Paw's wake & funeral were certainly a CELEBRATION of his extraordinary life. Paw Paw died at home & peacefully. He died shortly after my mom noticed sweet Miles' picture (on his bedside table) seemed to be smiling larger than usual and my Aunt Ruthie told him, "Dad we're going to take care of mom. Go run to Jesus & go meet Miles." And that he did! And now we say, "Paw Paw is dancing the tootsie roll with Miles in Heaven!"
Paw Paw's wake was full of JOY, full of people who loved him sharing fond memories of his life & family. Paw Paw's funeral was PERFECT in every way! The Gospel reading was the miracle of Jesus feeding 4,000 from Mark. In the priest's homily he related the Gospel to Paw Paw's life by pointing out over & over how Paw Paw lived an ordinary live, EXTRAORDINARILY! And he most certainly did! He was an incredible man of faith who lived out the sacrament of marriage by being an incredible husband and father to 10 children. The priest also said that in a marriage the husband & wife are to help one another get to Heaven & he said that Maw Maw & Paw Paw have certainly done that.
In addition to the priest's homily nailing Paw Paw's life on the head, Uncle Hank (the oldest son) gave a beautiful eulogy. He spoke of Ted Williams having a natural swing to hit a homerun & to understand that you had to see it in action. He said Paw Paw was someone you had to see in action! He was a natural as a father & husband. He spent his life serving. He served our country, his wife, his family, & most importantly our Lord. He frequented the sacraments and had a great devotion to Saint Padre Pio. At the burial Paw Paw was remembered as a Veteran & Lieutenant Colonel in a very special way with the American Flag & 3 gun shots. We ended his services with all the grandchildren releasing heart balloons & one smiley face balloon to heaven as we shouted, Happy Valentine's Day...We Love You!
This Valentine's Day was indeed the most special & full of love that I have ever experienced. I will treasure it forever.
Much Love & Many Blessings,

Six Month Recap

I'm awfully late in writing about Christopher's 6th month of life! I cannot believe he is already half a year & in just a few more months we will be celebrating his 1st birthday! Where does the time go?
He rang in his first New Years in New Roads! We had a wonderful celebration hosted by the Merricks. Even though he began eating more & more solids this month he still weighed in at 15 lbs! He began sitting up with support. He's OH so close to doing it on his own! He began rolling from his back to his tummy. He continues to mouth everything in site & I'm convinced he's working on his 3rd tooth! He loves coming to Strollfit with Mommy during the week & seeing all the other children. As you can see in the above picture, he's quite the ladies man! Through Strollfit he's had his first debuts! He was on 2une In & in the InRegister! Look out...we might have a star on our hands.
Much Love & Many Blessings,
Mauree
