Bebe Nursery

Posted by Mauree Brooksher at 7:11 PM

Our Bebe Brooksher is now 33 weeks old! This means that our bebe weighs a little over 4 lbs. and the skeleton is starting to harden. We have been having SO much fun preparing our little one's nursery! I had 3 showers given to me by such generous friends and family. God is so very gracious & we are ever thankful for everyone's great generosity! The first shower I had was on the last day of school. My dear aide, Cherie got the pre-k teachers and principals together to celebrate with me! Our dear friends at our St. Aloysius church community hosted a precious, Mad Hatter Tea Party! It was such a sweet and dainty shower! We all wore wide rimmed hats and dresses while enjoying lady-like finger foods & tea! Lastly my mother & sister hosted another shower where I celebrated with more friends, aunts, and grandmothers. My sister's home was decorated most beautifully with fresh flowers from my godmother's yard and the food was prepared by a precious french lady. During this special time I am reminded of the precious gift of the friends and family God had blessed me, which I know I take for granted so often. Our little one was certainly showered with love and many many gifts! Through these celebrations, we have been able to set up the nursery! Our bebe will definitely feel welcomed and at home sweet home upon arrival from the hospital! Since we do not know the gender of our baby, I chose to decorate the nursery in sage green toile & polka dots! I wanted something that was gender neutral (reusable!) yet classic & sweet for a baby! Now that the crib is made and the curtains are hung, I'm most pleased with the feeling of our nursery. It certainly is sweet and will be even sweeter when our bebe is here. We are now waiting on our glider, a print which was hung in my nursery as a child, a painting being done by a friend from St. Francisville, and a bookshelf. It's almost complete & I can't hardly wait!
