Good news, good news, it's what we have been given by the Lord!

Luke 1:39-56
And when Elizabeth heard the greeting of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb; and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit and she exclaimed with a loud cry, "Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb!... And Mary said, "My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior, for He has regarded the low estate of his handmaiden. For behold, henceforth all generations will call me blessed; for He who is mighty has done great things for me, and holy is His name.


This reading comes from the Gospel reading on the Feast of the Assumption, August 15th. Our baby is due on this date. I find this pure grace that our baby's due date is on this very special Feast day, not coincidence. I sure did leap for joy when receiving news that we are expecting and we also feel so blessed to be called to embark on this 9 month journey.


I found out I was pregnant on Friday, December 11th, the day before the Feast of Our Lady of Guadeloupe and during the Season of Advent when we anticipate the birth of baby Jesus. Therefore, we used our Advent wreath not only to reflect on the birth of baby Jesus, but to also begin waiting for our baby and gift. Not only are Steven & I filled with joy, but so our are families. Steven's siblings are already curious to know who the Godparents will be and are excited about being a first time aunt or uncle. Steven grandparents will become great grandparents for the first time. Dr. Steve & Ms. Margaret will be grandparents for the first time. And finally Mary Claire & Jabob will have some cousins to play with at Beezy and Sport's house.


At this point I am 7 weeks and 5 days pregnant. Our baby does have a heart beat and according to our doctor, everything looks great : ) I am feeling pregnant, just a little sick in the morning and fine once I am up and moving. The only thing that absolutely nauseates me is coffee. I think this is blessing in disguise though, because I drank too much of it before now. Right now our baby is the size of a blueberry & we return to the doctor at the end of January.
