Mama's First Mother's Day

Posted by Mauree Brooksher at 2:43 PM 0 comments

I had such a lovely first Mother's Day. Steven treated me to a dinner date on the Saturday evening prior to Mother's Day. We enjoyed a quite, long, & delicious dinner together at the Little Village down town. After dinner, we finished off dinner at Whole Foods with yummy gelato. On Mother's Day morning, Steven & Christopher brought me breakfast in bed along with a hysterical card, which Christopher signed too : ) They brought me Coffee Call cafe au lait & a low fat morning glory muffin. One of my favorite breakfasts! We then went to mass at Aloysius and had lunch with all the Brookshers at Mae Mae & Birds house. It was a lovely day. In addition to celebrating my first mother's day, I hosted a Mother's Day tea to honor all of my clients. All of my clients are moms! I have to say it has been such a joy to offer fitness classes for moms! I'm not just providing them a way to get fit, but I'm also providing each of my clients a sweet & joyful community of moms and children. Each of my clients has become one of my dear friends & I am ever grateful for each one of them. Therefore, I wanted to honor them in some small way. We enjoyed scones, cucumber sandwiches, coffee, tea, fresh flowers, pretty dresses & hats, and our friendship. Lauren Romero also displayed her sister's jewelry. We had such a sweet time & I will treasure my first Mother's Day forever.

Nine months old!

Posted by Mauree Brooksher at 11:59 AM 0 comments
He's starting to stand while hanging onto something.
I think he might need his first hair cut sooner than later!
He's quite the ham!
He loved playing at the park.
He enjoyed getting to see his Uncle Matthew over Easter.
He's always a trooper at the Dr.'s office.
He had so much fun at Jacob's birthday party.
I think this pic is so cute of him. He wearing a hat Mae Mae made & an outfit Nanny Nat had made for him.
He loves to sit in his rocker.
He loves to sit in high chairs, whenever we go out to eat.

I cannot believe Christopher is already 9 months old...crazy! Here are some new things Christopher has achieved during his 9th month of life:
he has 4 teeth on the bottom, one snaggle tooth on top, & another on its way!
he is rolling ALL over the place & sometimes rocking back & forth on his knees. I think crawling is coming soon.
he is eating some of Mommy & Papa's meals (pured) like minestrone soup, beef stew, & pesto pasta!
he is weighing in at 18 lbs.
he loves to play peek a boo!
Sadly, we've been to see Dr. Tribou way too often than I would like. First he was having a runny nose due to allergies, then an upper respiratory infection, and now there is more fluid in his ears. It hasn't been too fun! He's quite happy though, I must say. Please do say a prayer that the fluid clears after finishing this round of antibiotic that he's on right now.
Much Love & Many Blessings,
Mauree

Christopher's First Easter

I think Christopher had a wonderful first Easter. We stayed in Baton Rouge, because we have several plans to go to Lafayette over the coming weeks. Also, Steven's brother, Matthew was in town from Nashville. We do not see him often. Here are just a few pics from our weekend. Enjoy!

Happy Birthday Mommy!

My first birthday as a Mommy was wonderful! I celebrated my birthday for a few days before & after, which was wonderful because I was able to celebrate with many friends & family members. On Friday Steven & I left baby Christopher for the first time overnight. We headed to Lafayette for one night. Steven & I ate dinner at Cafe Des Amis in Breaux Bridge. On Saturday I was able to stop by & visit with my Maw Maw Perret. She & I have the same birthday & that has always been something so special & dear. On my actual birthday, I was woken by my dear husband & sweet baby boy with a breakfast of homemade oatmeal pancakes made from scratch. Christopher & I headed to Strollfit & enjoyed being with our sweet community of moms & babies. After Strollfit, Lauren Romero & Magdalene, Lauren Merrick & Hudson, and Christopher & I piled into my inlaws suburban to head to Denham Springs. We spent the day in their adorable antique district. We did lots of window shopping. We were joined by another friend from Strollfit, Amber McConnell with her son Oliver. We had lunch & sweet coffee at the Whistle Stop. I bargained on a Wall Hutch to display our Blue Italian Spode China in and I got a deal...$45! That evening we had dinner with my inlaws. The day following my birthday we had an evening of chips & salsa and margaritas at Ninfas. I was surrounded by dear friends! It was certainly a blessed birthday & I loved celebrating it as a mommy with baby Christopher. Thank You Steven for all the plans you made to celebrate my bday.

He loves to "walk" all over the place!
He can sit up all by himself & loves to eat snacks, esp. Mum Mums!
He loves to look at books!
He loves to play blocks & sometimes waves!

I LOVE my baby boy! He brings me such pure joy!

The Annual Bass Classic was this past weekend. The tournament benefited the Our Lady of the Lake Children's Hospital. Papa worked it. Christopher & I went along with him, because we were heading to New Orleans afterwards. Christopher had a great time enjoying the beautiful weather & watching all the fishermen.
